Job summary

Excel Fitness in Durham, NC is seeking a Club Operations Team Leader to support the General Manager (GM) and Assistant Manager (AM) in delivering outstanding member experiences.

This full-time role oversees up to six Team Players, trains staff, maintains club standards, and ensures compliance with company policies. You will help create a welcoming environment and drive Excel values across daily operations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/AED certification required; uncertified staff will be trained within 30 days.
• Proven ability to lead, encourage, develop, and supervise others.
• Great communication skills with internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Assist the GM and AM in implementing strategies to attract and retain members based on Excel Core Values.
• Help train new Team Players and be a team resource by answering questions and training on processes.
• Utilize performance trackers to meet company metrics.
• Supervise and inspire Team Players to perform at their best.
• Maintain high member service, cleanliness and atmosphere.
• Identify training needs and report findings to management.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure club standards are met.
• Ensure compliance with policies; report major infractions.
• Perform daily club inspections and assign tasks.
• Hold Team Players accountable for standards and daily paperwork.
• Audit club inventory and advise on orders with GM/AM.
• Oversee operations when GM/AM are unavailable.
• Stay proficient with PFHQ and Excel platforms.
• Assist GM and represent the company at community events.
