Job summary

Excel Fitness in Chapel Hill, NC is seeking a dedicated Team Leader to support the General Manager and Assistant Manager in delivering outstanding member experiences. You will supervise up to 6 Team Players, uphold Excel standards, manage daily club operations, conduct inspections, and assist on trainings.

The role requires flexibility for shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends, and overnight as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR/AED certification required; uncertified teammates will be given opportunity to complete CPR/AED training within first 30 days.
• Must be comfortable standing for long periods.
• Proven ability to lead, encourage, develop, and supervise the work of others.
• Demonstrated the ability, confidence, and leadership to manage a team.
• Great communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Must be team-oriented, motivated, and well-organized.
• Ability to think critically and evaluate solutions to problems proactively.
• Proficient ability in Microsoft Office and using a computer.

Responsibilities

• Assist the GM and AM in implementing strategies to attract and keep members based on our Excel Core Values.
• Help train new Team Players and be a team resource by accurately answering questions, modeling expected behaviors, and training on operational processes.
• Utilize Team Performance Tracker to meet company metric expectations.
• Supervise and inspire Team Players to perform to their best abilities.
• Monitor and maintain a high level of member service, cleanliness, and atmosphere.
• Identify training needs by ensuring that all Team Players meet Excel standards and report findings to club management.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure the club is presentable and holds up to Excel standards.
• Ensure Team Players adhere to company policies and guidelines and address infractions.
• Perform daily club inspections and assign cleaning or related tasks, then re-inspect.
• Hold Team Players accountable for meeting standards, audit daily paperwork, and resolve day-to-day member issues.
• Audit club inventory and communicate with the GM and AM on inventory orders.
• May oversee club operations and schedule Team Players when GM/AM is unavailable.
• Stay proficient in PFHQ and Excel platforms, programs, and updates.
• Assist GM and represent our company at community events and outreach activities.
