Job summary

The Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore seeks a customer‑facing fitness associate to join our busy Fitness Department. You will welcome members, assist with equipment, and ensure a positive, high‑energy environment.

Responsibilities include delivering excellent service, scheduling Welcome Workouts, and maintaining clean, safe equipment while coordinating with staff to meet member needs in a diverse community setting.

Qualifications

• CPR/AED certification required or current
• First Aid certification required
• Broad knowledge of gym equipment and body mechanics
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly, mature demeanor
• Able to work a flexible schedule
• Maintain a neat appearance (black bottom and staff shirt with name tag)
• Practical experience in fitness/gym setting preferred
• Current personal training certification (nationally recognized, NCCA accredited) preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level customer service to members
• Build relationships to improve member retention and exceed expectations
• Maintain a positive, enthusiastic, helpful attitude
• Represent the JCC Fitness Department in a professional manner
• Address member concerns and inquiries promptly and professionally
• Schedule and conduct welcome workouts for new members
• Ensure equipment is clean and in good working order and report issues as needed
• Attend department meetings and assist with other duties as assigned
