Job summary
Eastern Washington University in Cheney seeks a detail-oriented accounting professional for a Fiscal Specialist 2 on the General Accounting team. You will provide critical fiscal support, interpreting technical accounting practices and advising staff on policies and procedures to ensure compliance.

Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Two years of experience at a level equivalent to Fiscal Specialist 1 and accounting/bookkeeping coursework.
- Advanced MS Excel and Word skills.
- Demonstrated ability to provide supportive, responsive service to students, faculty, staff and the public.
Responsibilities
- Provide fiscal support and apply accounting principles and practices.
- Assist with training departmental personnel on the university accounting system.
- Monitor and audit daily activity in Bursar transactions and balancing deposits.
- Audit, analyze, and prepare reports; advise staff on corrective actions.
- Process payroll, budgets, grants, facilities, and other departments; correct errors as needed.
- Create ad hoc queries and prepare internal/external reports.
- Maintain General Accounting files per state records retention.
