Job description

LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a non-profit seeking an experienced Fiscal Director to lead financial operations and support long-term organizational sustainability. This role plays a key leadership function, partnering closely with executive leadership to oversee financial strategy, compliance, and operational finance within a highly regulated environment.

The Fiscal Director will step into a succession-planned role, working alongside senior leadership to ensure continuity, knowledge transfer, and effective stewardship of public funding.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead overall financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Oversee financial reporting on an accrual basis in accordance with GAAP
• Ensure compliance with audits, regulatory requirements, and governmental reporting standards
• Serve as a strategic finance partner to leadership, supporting organizational planning and decision‑making
• Work closely with state and federal funding agencies, including oversight of Medicaid‑ and ODP‑funded programs
• Support cost accounting processes, including allocation of costs by program
• Participate in system enhancements and financial projects, including ERP and reporting tool integrations

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive experience in nonprofit, public sector, healthcare, or governmental finance
• Strong understanding of nonprofit financial operations, compliance, and public funding structures
• Exposure to fund accounting (restricted and unrestricted) required; direct ownership not required Experience with cost accounting and program‑based financial analysis
• Proficiency with Sage (Sage 100 preferred), financial reporting tools, and Excel

Compensation

$95,000-$100,000
