Job summary

LHH is partnering with a well-known nonprofit client in New York City to recruit an Interim Director of Accounting. This contract role may require some in-office presence in Manhattan as operations demand. The candidate will supervise all accounting functions and lead the close process.

We seek a leader with 10+ years of relevant experience, a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance, and preferably a CPA. NetSuite experience and strong Excel skills are highly valued, along with excellent communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required; CPA preferred.
• Non-profit experience required.
• 10+ years of relevant accounting experience.
• Experience with NetSuite and strong Excel skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

LHH is supporting a well-renowned client in the Non-Profit space who is seeking an Interim Director of Accounting. This role will be on an open-ended contract basis. This opportunity could require some in-office work in Manhattan, NY. Prior industry experience is required.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting functions, including grants accounting, treasury, internal audit, etc.
• Lead month end close processes
• Manage financial statement preparation under GAAP standards
• Oversee preparation of Form 990 report
• Manage cash flow and banking relationships
• Lead process improvement
• Assist with long-term financial planning

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance required; CPA highly preferred
• Non-profit industry experience is required
• 10+ years of relevant experience
• Experience with NetSuite is a plus; Strong Excel skills required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Compensation:

$75 - $105/hr, depending on experience.
