NMSU is seeking a Fiscal Assistant Senior in Las Cruces to manage post-award monitoring of funding sources and ensure compliance with policy and audit requirements. The role supports financial processes across the Agricultural, Consumer & Env Sci College, serving as a key contact for fiscal staff.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: This position's focus is on post award monitoring of restricted and unrestricted funding sources, ensuring compliance with policy, procedure, funding source terms and conditions, and uniform administrative requirements, cost principles and audit requirements. This position reviews travel expense reports, direct payment requests, procurement card transactions, and other fiscal documents including deposit of funds from sales submitted by college staff, secures all appropriate approval signatures, and uploads same to the NMSU central business function for process completion. This position serves as a primary point of contact to fiscal support staff working within the college.
Required Education and Experience:
High School diploma + 3 years of relevant experience or an Associate’s
Degree + 1 year of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
General understanding of general accepted accounting principles and procedures.
Environment: Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Physical Effort: No or very limited physical effort required.
Lifting Requirements: Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 10 pounds or some standing or walking.
Risk: No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
