Job summary

Finger Lakes Community College seeks a Student Success Coach to support students through their first year, guiding them via extended orientation and success strategies. The role aligns with the Academic Advising and Transfer Services Office to monitor progress and intervene as needed.

The position requires a Bachelor's in a related field, two years of college-level student support, and strong communication, confidentiality, and organizational skills. Evening/weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Human Services, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of two years professional experience in student counseling, residential life, student support, or academic advising at the college level.
• Ability to work with a diverse student population and provide a range of student support and triage services.
• Knowledge of student development theory and practice; strong communications and human-relations skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Provides holistic support to students.
• Facilitates extended orientation workshop series for first-semester students.
• Maintains accurate records on each advisee in appropriate systems; evaluates progress and plans for improvement.
• Works with Academic Advising and Transfer Services to ensure New Student Intake Surveys and timely interventions.
• Maintains frequent contact with advisees and builds trusting relationships.
• Collaborates with advisors and departments to enhance the student experience.
• Adheres to FERPA and confidentiality guidelines.
• Disseminates information on institutional policies and procedures.
