Job summary

Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua, NY seeks a Student Success Coach to support students through their first year, delivering extended orientation, guiding academic, financial, wellness, and engagement success strategies, and maintaining accurate progress records. The role aligns with the Academic Advising and Transfer Services Office and requires evening/weekend availability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts or Science required in Education, Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
• Master’s degree in related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides holistic support to students.
• Facilitates extended orientation workshop series with first semester students.
• Prepares and executes extended orientation learning objectives.
• Maintains accurate records on each advisee in appropriate systems.
• Evaluates students at semester end and determines status and recovery plan.
• Monitors challenges with the college’s early alert systems (Starfish, Chatbot).
• Ensures student completes New Student Intake Survey and follows up when intervention is needed.
• Maintains frequent contact with advisees and builds trust.
• Collaborates with advisors and academic departments to support students.
• Adheres to FERPA and confidentiality guidelines.
