Job summary

Vermont State University in Lyndon, VT seeks a Student Success Advisor to support a caseload of first-year undergraduates. You will guide onboarding, help students register for their first semester, and connect them with campus resources to establish goals and a sense of belonging.

Work across departments to coordinate advising, explore majors, plan timelines, and prepare students for academic success and career readiness through internships and assessments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline; 2–4 years relevant experience.
• Master’s degree preferred with 2–4 years relevant experience.
• Understanding of accessibility and diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
• Ability to coordinate student support across multiple areas and departments.

Responsibilities

• Advise a caseload of first-year undergraduates and assist with registration for the first semester.
• Collaborate across departments to support student success goals and programs.
• Provide career and work readiness advising and connect majors to career paths.
• Monitor degree progress, explain transfer credits, and connect students to resources.
• Document advising notes and track progress in the advising system; manage alerts.
• Assist with interventions to reduce achievement gaps and support at-risk students.
