Job summary

Vermont State University is seeking a Student Success Advisor to support first‑year undergraduates through personalized onboarding, class registration, and goal setting. You will build a strong support network for advisees by connecting them with Career Services, Financial Aid, Wellness, Residential Life, and other campus resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline.
• Two to four years of relevant experience, or experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.

Responsibilities

• Serve as student success advisor for an assigned caseload of undergraduate students who are in their first year at VTSU.
• Collaborate across departments and with Student Success to advance university goals and inclusion initiatives.
• Assist with registering new students, onboarding, and linking advisees to campus resources.
• Support major exploration, internships, and career readiness through advising activities.
• Enter notes in the advising system and monitor progress; engage with faculty advisors as needed.
• Provide outreach for at‑risk students and participate in university committees and events.
