Job summary

Vermont State University is seeking a Student Success Advisor to guide first-year undergraduates through onboarding, course registration, and goal setting. You will coordinate with Student Success, faculty advisors, and campus resources to help students create a plan for academics and career preparation.

The role emphasizes inclusive advising, accessibility, and timely follow-up to support student retention and success across departments and programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline; two to four years relevant experience required.
• Preference for a Master’s degree with two to four years relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Advise a caseload of incoming undergraduates in their first year, coordinating onboarding and first-semester registration.
• Collaborate with multiple departments and the CARES Early Alert team to support student success goals.
• Assist with major exploration, career readiness, and enrollment in internships or micro-credentials.
• Enter advising notes, track progress, and respond to alerts to support at-risk students.
