Job summary

Bryan College in Dayton, TN, is seeking a Student Success & Academic Advisor for the Academic Resource Center (ARC). This twelve-month contract position reports to the Associate Director of Advising & Success and provides comprehensive academic advising for first-year students across majors.

The Advisor will maintain advising records, coordinate with academic departments, and support orientation and campus initiatives. Strong counseling, organizational, and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of undergraduate student development and advising practices.
• Familiarity with FERPA regulations and student privacy.
• Ability to analyze data and prepare reports for program assessment.
• Understanding of college policies and curriculum structures.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality academic advisement to a caseload of first-year students.
• Maintain office hours, appointments, and monitor email.
• Counsel students on academic challenges and success planning.
• Refer students to campus resources and counseling when needed.
• Develop four-year degree plans and maintain student records.
• Collaborate with academic departments and student support divisions.
• Assist with orientation, registration, and Admissions events.
• Support students on academic probation with coaching.
• Oversee programming for affinity groups.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
