Job summary

Vermont State University seeks a dedicated student success advisor to guide first‑year undergraduates through onboarding, registration, and goal setting. You will build a support network tailored to each student’s needs and connect them with campus resources to promote timely graduation and continued growth.

In this role, you will collaborate with faculty and across departments, promote inclusive advising, and maintain detailed progress notes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline with 2–4 years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree with 2–4 years relevant experience preferred.
• Experience coordinating student support and advising across multiple departments.

Responsibilities

• Advise undergraduate first‑year students to support transition and goal setting.
• Assist with the first‑semester course registration.
• Coordinate with departments to connect students to resources (Career Services, Financial Aid, etc.).
• Promote inclusivity and accessibility in all advising modalities.
• Enter meeting notes and track progress in the advising system.
• Participate in campus events and advisement activities.
