South Carolina State University is seeking a First Year Advisor in the Office of First Year Experience. The advisor will work with faculty and staff to support students' academic and career goals by cultivating study habits and monitoring progress.

The role includes helping first-year students select courses, identify strengths, and choose a major, while contributing to orientation and workshop activities and data reporting to leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Additional education or experience in education or counseling preferred.
• Willingness to collaborate with students and staff.

Responsabilités

• Build rapport with students.
• Help students identify strengths and weaknesses and assist with setting academic and career goals.
• Develop strategic study habits and other skills to ensure success.
• Analyze data and track student progress towards goals.
• Coordinate and present academic workshops.
• Assist with New Student Orientation.
• Assist with Fall Convocation.
• Provide counseling to students.
• Collaborate with Faculty and Staff to support student development.
