BARNES-JEWISH HOSPITAL is seeking a First Assistant Surgical Technologist to support the Surgical Services Team. The role acts as the first assistant to surgeons during procedures and performs chosen technical duties under the surgeon's direction.

Requirements include completion of an accredited First Assistant Surgical Technologist Program and CSTFA or CSFA certification. Schedule features Monday–Friday, with 6:30am starts and 4/10s or 3/12s shifts.

Responsibilities

• Delivers intraoperative patient care as the first assistant to the surgeon(s).

Acts as a first assistant to surgeons during surgical procedures in the operating room. Performs selected technical duties in an expanded perioperative role under the direction of the surgeon.

Responsibilities

• Delivers intraoperative patient care as the first assistant to the surgeon(s) as a collaborative team member.
• Maintains accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team.
• Functions as a member of the surgical team and contribute to the overall efficiency of the perioperative department.
