Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technician to support Perioperative Services in our large Missouri medical center. The role involves assisting in the operating room, maintaining sterile technique, and collaborating with the CT team.

Weekend option schedule and a $12,500 sign-on bonus are available, with further benefits and a structured on-site work environment.

Role Purpose

Performs surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating room for surgical patient, reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs, obtains the necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure, ensures cleanliness of room, and assists with opening sterile supplies.
• Performs surgical scrub duties, and assists with the collection, identification, and disposition of cultures and specimens.
• Assists in turning over of room, and ensures supplies, instruments, and equipment are returned to proper location.
