Job summary

County of Northampton seeks an Assistant Supervisor to oversee Youth Care Workers at the Juvenile Justice Center. You will mentor staff, ensure safety and security, and assist in supervisory tasks while coordinating daily activities and trainings.

The role demands strong communication, trauma‑informed care, and the ability to respond to crises. Availability for a 7a‑3p shift and occasional after‑hours coverage may be required at times.

Qualifications

• Completion of sixty (60) college credits preferred.
• Minimum six (6) months of direct work related experience preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted.
• Employees must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Provides oversight to Youth Care Workers during shifts to maintain safety and security.
• Supervises daily routines and expectations of Youth Care Workers.
• Schedules trainings in conjunction with Supervisory Team and Training Coordinator.
• Plans and assigns schedules; ensures participation in resident activities.
• Reviews intake/release documentation for OCYF 3800 compliance.
• Completes OCYF 3800 risk assessments and reviews health/safety plans.
