Job summary

Northampton County is seeking a Youth Care Worker (Juvenile Correctional Officer) to provide care, supervision, and security for residents at the County Juvenile Justice Center. The role emphasizes monitoring daily routines, de-escalating crises, and ensuring safety while documenting activities and incident reports.

We require 60 college credits or 1 year of relevant experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience: 60 college credits in Social/Behavioral Sciences or related field; OR 1 year full-time work with youth in juvenile settings.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Care, activity and security for residents.
• Supervise daily routines and maintain order.
• Communicate with residents to address concerns and behaviors.
• Plan and participate in resident activities and initiate assessments.
• Maintain admissions, discharges, and related forms and records.
• Prepare reports and document shift activities.
