Job summary

Bruker Energy and Supercon Technologies (Bruker EST) seeks a manufacturing technician for its Carteret, NJ facility. This first-shift role focuses on overseeing a team to ensure machinery operates effectively and safely from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

You will enforce 6S and safety standards, hit production targets, and lead operator training. Opportunities include process improvement involvement and strong teamwork with quality and process engineers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Manufacturing experience required; furnace experience preferred.
• Basic math and computer skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to communicate effectively and read and write in English.
• Ability to read, understand, and interpret operating procedures, safety requirements, and calibrated equipment.
• Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures and properly use required safety equipment.
• Ability to work overtime as needed to support operational requirements.
• Must have US Citizenship or Permanent Residency. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct and safe working practices are being followed, that workplaces are maintained to the correct standard (6S and safety), and take appropriate action if this is not the case.
• Ensure that manufacturing targets are being met and that the product is to the correct quality standard.
• Ensure area control plans and standard work is being followed.
• Take appropriate action on production problems and escal.
• Take the lead in training and coaching operators, and co-ordinate on-the-job training of operators. Ensure that training forms are accurate and completed.
• Regularly participate in production activities to help reinforce the training of others, and interface with quality and process engineers when procedural changes are introduced – in order to ensure compliance with MSI procedures and routings, ie ‘standard work’.
• Take part and contribute to process improvement projects.
• Use problem solving and root cause analysis skills to better provide corrective action when required.
• Take the lead within team in continuous improvement efforts.
• Maintain area visual displays. (Whiteboards, metrics etc)
• Cross-training as required per business needs
