Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated is seeking a Production Supervisor (1st Shift) for our Systems Control team in Iron Mountain, Michigan. You will lead a team of skilled production employees in a fast-paced setting, driving safety, quality, and delivery while promoting continuous improvement.

This onsite role runs Monday through Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., reporting to the Systems Control group and collaborating with engineering, materials, safety, and quality functions to meet production goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a unionized, manufacturing environment with 2 years in a leadership role.
• Ability to follow and understand blueprints.
• Proven leadership and coaching skills.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision, training, and coaching of 20-30 IBEW employees.
• Assure compliance with safety procedures and quality system procedures.
• Identify and respond to corrective actions as required.
• Lead daily crew meetings to review area performance and provide training on safety, quality and delivery topics.
• Assist with staffing requirements, including interviewing, hiring and training of new employees.
• Verify accuracy of production transactions daily.
• Approve and edit employee attendance records.
• Develop, sustain and improve work area performance utilizing employee feedback and lean techniques.
• Lead and participate in Rapid Improvement Events each year.
• Schedule working hours and priorities daily.
• Improve and maintain 5-S regularly.
• Communicate with fellow supervisors across three shifts and with engineering, materials, design, safety and quality teams.
