Job summary

Hubbell Incorporated in Iron Mountain, Michigan, seeks a Production Supervisor (B-Shift) to lead a 20–30 person IBEW team in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You will drive safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement while working onsite Monday–Thursday from 7:30 p.m.

to 6 a.m. You will mentor and develop staff, coordinate staffing, and ensure production records are accurate, as part of Hubbell's Systems Control team that supports grid modernization and electrical infrastructure

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; college experience a plus.
• Minimum 5 years in a unionized, manufacturing environment with 2 years in a leadership role preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; formal training is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and organizational skills.
• Proven track record in project management and driving continuous improvement.
• Desire to continuously improve and drive results.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision, training, and coaching for 20–30 IBEW employees.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and quality systems.
• Identify and address corrective actions as needed.
• Lead daily crew meetings to review performance and train on safety, quality, and delivery.
• Assist with staffing, including interviewing, hiring, and training new employees.
• Verify daily production transaction accuracy.
• Approve and edit employee attendance records.
• Administer the IBEW contract and uphold company values.
• Develop and sustain area performance using feedback and lean methods.
• Lead Rapid Improvement Events each year.
• Schedule working hours and set priorities daily.
• Maintain 5-S discipline regularly.
• Communicate with supervisors across three shifts and with engineering, materials, design, safety, and quality teams.

Job Overview

Hubbell is seeking a Production Supervisor (B-Shift) to join our Systems Control team in Iron Mountain, Michigan. In this role, you will lead a team of skilled production employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, driving safety, quality, delivery, and continuous improvement. This is an onsite position with the regular hours of Monday through Thursday, 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.

A Day In The Life

• Provide direct supervision, training, and coaching of 20-30 IBEW employees

• Identify and respond to corrective actions as required
• Lead daily crew meetings to review area performance and provide training on various safety, quality and delivery topics
• Assist with appropriate staffing requirements, including interviewing, hiring and training of new employees
• Verify accuracy of production transactions daily
• Approve and edit employee attendance records
• Administer to IBEW contract and company values
• Develop, sustain and improve work area performance utilizing employee feedback/suggestions in addition to lean techniques
• Lead and participate in Rapid Improvement Events each year
• Schedule working hours and priorities daily
• Improve and maintain 5-S regularly
• Communicate with fellow supervisors across three shifts, as well as engineering, materials, design, safety and quality teams as required

• High School Diploma or equivalent; college experience a plus
