Job summary

Fort Wayne Metals is seeking a 1st Shift Preventive Maintenance Technician at our Columbia City facility. The role focuses on monitoring and maintaining production machinery, planning downtime, and ensuring ISO 9000 record-keeping.

The position emphasizes a safe, HVAC-controlled environment with a paid trial period and PTO/holiday eligibility from day one. The team highlights stability, lack of layoffs, and voluntary overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Prior preventive maintenance experience preferred.
• Proficiency in math, reading, writing, and communication.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and troubleshoot equipment and machinery for signs of problems.
• Perform maintenance routines and plan machine downtimes.
• Evaluate wear on components and schedule/perform repairs.
• Change filters, replace belts and pulleys, calibrate Magpower units.
• Maintain part inventories and keep ISO 9000 records.
