Job summary

Technique is seeking a Material Handler at our Jackson, Michigan facility. You will move and stage materials, receive shipments, and maintain ERP inventory accuracy to keep production running on time.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of material handling or related experience, and a forklift license or ability to obtain certification. The role requires physical activity and comfort working in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Forklift (hi-lo) license required or ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to read job travelers, packing lists, and shipping documents.
• Basic computer skills; experience with ERP or inventory systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Move materials – Load, unload, and move raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand carts.
• Stage jobs for production – Stage raw materials and components at work centers according to production schedules and job travelers.
• Receive incoming shipments – Verify counts against packing lists and purchase orders, inspect materials for damage.
• Maintain inventory accuracy – Perform inventory transactions, cycle counts, and location updates in the ERP system.
• Prepare outbound shipments – Pick, pack, label, and stage finished goods for shipment per customer and carrier requirements.
• Maintain documentation – Maintain accurate documentation for material movements, receipts, and shipments.
• Keep work areas safe and organized – Maintain clean, safe, and organized warehouse areas following safety procedures.
• Support production teams – Communicate material shortages or discrepancies to supervision and support production teams as needed.
