Job summary

Technique is seeking a dedicated Material Handler at our Jackson, Michigan facility. You will move and stage materials, receive and verify shipments, and maintain accurate inventory records to keep production on schedule.

The role requires 1–2 years in material handling and a forklift license or ability to certify, with proficiency in ERP systems. Responsibilities include coordinating with production teams, ensuring accurate documentation, and upholding safety in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of material handling, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred.
• Forklift (hi-lo) license required or ability to obtain certification.
• Ability to read job travelers, packing lists, and shipping documents.

Responsibilities

• Move materials – Load, unload, and move raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods throughout the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand carts.
• Stage jobs for production – Stage raw materials and components at work centers according to production schedules and job travelers.
• Receive incoming shipments – Verify counts against packing lists and purchase orders, and inspect materials for damage.
• Maintain inventory accuracy – Perform inventory transactions, cycle counts, and location updates in the ERP system.
• Prepare outbound shipments – Pick, pack, label, and stage finished goods for shipment per customer and carrier requirements.
• Maintain documentation – Documentation for material movements, receipts, and shipments.
• Keep work areas safe and organized – Safe, clean warehouse, staging, and shipping areas with safety procedures.
• Support production teams – Communicate material shortages or discrepancies to supervision.
• Other duties as assigned – By Materials Manager.
