Job summary

SURGE Staffing is seeking a dependable Maintenance Technician to perform repairs, preventive maintenance, installations, and troubleshooting in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will prioritize work orders, document activities in CMMS, and ensure GMP and safety standards are upheld.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent (technical degree preferred) and at least 2 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree/cert preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years maintenance experience in manufacturing/industrial setting.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• General knowledge of PLCs is preferred.
• Proficiency with hand tools and maintenance equipment.
• Familiarity with CMMS or ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Experience with high-speed packaging equipment and welding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on production equipment and facilities.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and maintain machinery including conveyors and molding equipment.
• Install, inspect, clean, and lubricate mechanical components (shafts, bearings, gears).
• Identify faults, leaks, and deficiencies; generate corrective work orders.
• Maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems and diagnose electrical issues within scope.
• Document maintenance activities, labor hours, and parts in CMMS.
• Manage daily work orders and respond to urgent breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Follow Lockout/Tagout procedures and GMP and safety policies.
