Job summary

Hill Phoenix, Inc. is seeking a Supervisor, Maintenance for our Richmond, VA operations. This role leads a team of skilled hourly staff in a highly automated environment, ensuring safe, timely repairs and adherence to quality standards.

The ideal candidate has extensive maintenance leadership experience, strong knowledge of building systems, fabrication processes, robotics, and PLCs, plus proven supervisory capabilities. Competitive compensation is offered with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a leadership position (team lead, team captain, supervisor, shift lead, etc.).
• At least five years of maintenance experience required.
• Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.
• Two years’ experience with 5S/6S, Lean/Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to interact and work effectively with employees at levels of the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be willing to work extended and/or weekend hours when required.
• 10+ years of Maintenance Leadership
• Experience in robotics (Fanuc) and PLC Programming with Allen Bradley systems
• 3+ years of experience in powder coating, conveyor systems

Responsibilities

• Hires and trains maintenance department staff.
• Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff.
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
• Oversees the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
• Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
• Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
• Develops maintenance procedures and schedules.
• Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
• Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
