Job summary

Workforce is hiring a Maintenance Assistant in Richmond, VA for a full-time, temp-to-hire role. The position supports the Maintenance Manager with mechanical troubleshooting, equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and general facility upkeep in a food manufacturing setting.

The role involves working around processing equipment, conveyors, packaging lines, pasteurizers, roasters, and other manufacturing equipment.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of hands-on maintenance, mechanical, industrial, construction, or skilled trades experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and electrical components.
• Experience with mechanical troubleshooting and basic equipment repair preferred.
• Ability to operate scissor lift and forklift; forklift certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mechanical troubleshooting and basic repairs on manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain conveyors, packaging lines, pasteurizers, roasters, and other production equipment.
• Perform basic maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems under supervision.
• Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
• Follow SOPs and maintenance schedules; document completed work.
