Job summary

Dover Food Retail is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for 1st shift in Colonial Heights, VA. This role leads a team of hourly staff in a highly automated environment, ensuring repairs are completed safely, on time, and to quality standards.

You will hire and train staff, organize schedules, and oversee day-to-day maintenance operations while managing budgets and coordinating with operations for efficient plant performance. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and technical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 4 years’ experience in a leadership position (team lead, supervisor, etc).
• At least five years of maintenance experience required.
• Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.

Responsibilities

• Hires and trains maintenance department staff.
• Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff.
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• Handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the maintenance department.
• Evaluates systems or facilities to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.
• Assesses building systems to plan work assignments and project schedules.
• Develop maintenance procedures and schedules.
• Ensures maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
• Assists with departmental budget estimates and costs of specific repair projects.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
