Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise maintenance technicians and leads, directing daily work
• Diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical issues on the production floor
• Provide direct technical support for automated systems (PLCs, drives, machine controls)
• Manage the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program to minimize downtime
• Oversee daily job assignments and scheduling for the maintenance crew

• Supervise external contractors ensuring quality and safety standards
• Enforce OSHA and environmental policies across the team

POSITION SUMMARY

The maintenance supervisor leads, coordinates, and actively participates in all maintenance functions across a multi-site manufacturing operation. This role combines daily on-the-floor technical troubleshooting with supervisory duties, focusing on preventative maintenance, equipment reliability, parts inventory management, and team safety. The ideal candidate balances strong leadership with a practical, "get it done" approach to keeping production lines running smoothly.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITITES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS)

• Directly supervises and works alongside maintenance technicians and leads, providing daily direction, performance management, and hands‑on assistance during complex repairs.
• Diagnoses and repairs complex electrical and mechanical equipment issues on the production floor, acting as the primary technical point of contact.
• Provides direct technical support for automated systems, including PLCs, drives/motors, and electrical/mechanical machine controls.
• Manages the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program, executing and improving routine PM tasks to minimize unplanned downtime.
• Oversees daily job assignments and scheduling for the maintenance crew, using performance metrics to track completion and efficiency.
• Coordinates equipment repairs and upgrades closely with the Bulk Wire production management team to minimize impact on operations.
• Supervises external contractors (electrical, mechanical, and machine shop services) ensuring their work meets quality and safety standards.
• Enforces strict compliance with OSHA, safety regulations, and environmental policies, ensuring the team mitigates environmental impacts.
• Assists with budget tracking and provides practical data to support capital improvement projects and equipment upgrades.
• Meets attendance requirements as stated in the associate handbook and performs other hands-on duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

EDUCATION

• Associate degree or Technical Degree in Electro-Mechanical Technology, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related industrial trade field.
• Equivalent journey‑level experience combined with advanced technical certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Advanced mechanical/electrical certifications and PLC troubleshooting training are preferred.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on industrial maintenance experience working with large manufacturing equipment and processes.
• At least 2 years of experience in leadership, lead technician, or supervisory role within a manufacturing setting.
