Job summary

Aerotek in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a General Machine Operator for a first-shift contract role. You will operate and maintain general production machinery such as tumblers, stamp presses, and saws, performing setup, adjustments, and basic maintenance while ensuring accurate documentation of work performed.

The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, basic mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as a general machine operator in manufacturing.
• Ability to operate general production machinery including saws and presses.
• Proficient with hand and power tools for setup and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Operate machines (tumblers, stamp presses, saws) and related equipment in the pin department.
• Set up, adjust, and maintain production equipment per specifications.
• Troubleshoot basic mechanical issues to minimize downtime and keep production on schedule.
• Process pin orders accurately and on time following procedures.
• Inspect parts during and after production to ensure quality control.
• Document work performed with clear tags and records.
