Job summary

Foster Poultry Farms seeks a Food Safety/Quality Assurance Technician for 1st shift in Demopolis, AL. The role ensures compliance with USDA standards and internal QA programs while guiding QA staff and coordinating with production teams.

You will conduct audits, monitor quality, and support regulatory handling. This position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work across departments in a fast-paced poultry processing environment.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of USDA regulations, HACCP, GMPs and SSOPs (preferred).
• Must be able to read and write English legibly and communicate with all levels including management.
• Must pass criminal background check, drug screen, and E-verify; able to rotate into various QC duties.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining, monitoring, and enforcing USDA Regulatory, Corporate Guidelines and Quality Assurance Programs, including internal audits.
• Interface with Production Supervisors and hourly Team Members on production and quality procedures.
• Work with USDA personnel to handle regulatory issues.
• Assist in maintaining the micro-hold product program.
• Have authority to hold nonconforming product and make disposition decisions.
• Provide leadership to QA technicians on procedures, product quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain Quality Reporting Systems.
• Other duties as assigned.
