Job summary

Employbridge is seeking a motivated Controls Engineer in Minnesota to design, troubleshoot, and support electrical control systems for automation projects. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to define project requirements and ensure successful execution.

The role involves PLC programming, HMI development, robotics integration, and conducting testing/commissioning of control systems, with a focus on servo motors and VFDs.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 2+ years of PLC programming and troubleshooting experience, preferably with Allen-Bradley controls.
• Experience with HMI development, robotics, and industrial automation systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and electrical design documentation.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of control system hardware, software, and system integration.
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, and NEC standards.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with clients to define project requirements and control system specifications.
• Develop, program, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and robotics applications.
• Perform testing, debugging, and commissioning of electrical control systems.
• Integrate automation systems using servo motors, variable frequency drives, and peripheral devices.
• Analyze and resolve electrical and controls-related technical issues.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including schematics, specifications, and operating manuals.
• Provide technical support to engineers, technicians, and project stakeholders throughout project implementation.
