Fabcon in Grandville, MI, is hiring a Batch Plant Operator for a permanent full-time position with a 5:00 am start on weekdays. The role involves operating the concrete batching system, maintaining equipment, ensuring mix designs are followed, and coordinating material inventory.

You will perform quality checks on concrete and document results, while adhering to safety standards. The ideal candidate has mechanical and math skills, strong attention to detail, and good computer and communication

Qualifications

• Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot equipment
• Strong math for calculating ingredient quantities
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate mix designs
• Physical ability for manual tasks like cleaning and inspecting equipment
• Familiarity with computer-controlled batching systems
• Effective communication with dispatchers, drivers and QC staff

Responsibilities

• Operate the batching system to weigh and dispense ingredients per orders and mix designs
• Conduct quality tests on concrete samples to verify slump and specs
• Maintain batch plant equipment with routine inspections and minor repairs
• Monitor raw material levels and coordinate deliveries
• Document production data and batch details
• Troubleshoot operational issues affecting quality or efficiency
• Follow safety procedures to keep the plant safe
