Fabcon in Grandville, MI, is hiring a Batch Plant Operator for a permanent full-time position with a 5:00 am start on weekdays. The role involves operating the concrete batching system, maintaining equipment, ensuring mix designs are followed, and coordinating material inventory.

You will perform quality checks on concrete and document results, while adhering to safety standards. The ideal candidate has mechanical and math skills, strong attention to detail, and good computer and communication

A batch plant operator is responsible for overseeing the operation of a concrete mixing plant, ensuring the production of high-quality concrete by accurately weighing and combining ingredients like cement, sand, aggregate, and water according to specified mix designs, while maintaining proper equipment function and performing routine maintenance checks to guarantee consistent production and quality control.

Key responsibilities of a batch plant operator include:

• Operating the batching system: Managing the computer-controlled system to accurately weigh and dispense ingredients into the mixer based on customer orders and mix designs.
• Quality control: Regularly testing concrete samples to verify slump and other quality parameters meet specifications.
• Maintaining equipment: Performing routine inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs on the batch plant machinery, including conveyors, feeders, and mixers.
• Inventory management: Monitoring raw material levels in storage bins and coordinating deliveries to maintain adequate supplies.
• Recordkeeping: Documenting production data, including batch numbers, mix designs, and quality control results.
