Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield is seeking a Cleaner for the 1st shift in the Syracuse, NY area. The role carries a wide range of custodial duties under supervision to meet established standards and procedures.

You will perform floor care, cleaning of surfaces, restrooms, and general area upkeep while adhering to safety and quality requirements. Responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment, dusting, window and wall cleaning, trash removal, and reporting maintenance needs.

Qualifications

• Basic cleaning responsibilities requires no previous experience.
• Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Use a portable vacuum cleaner – back pack style.
• Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, and other surfaces (inside buildings).
• Use light and heavy floor buffers and shampoo machines including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot clean daily and shampoo rugs as directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces including high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors; wash/spot clean interior walls daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily.
• Monitor defects such as clogged urinals and lights out; report to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily and place in designated area for removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers as per specs.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways as directed.
• Perform periodic work: high dusting, leather and wood surfaces, polishing.
• Any and all other duties as assigned.
