Job summary

New Flyer in Minnesota is seeking a Cell Leader for the 1st Shift to guide a dedicated manufacturing team in producing transit buses. You will drive safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement while fostering teamwork and accountability across the cell.

Responsibilities include championing safety, applying lean principles, overseeing quality, leading daily stand-ups, managing staffing and training, coordinating with QA, Engineering and HR, and supporting union processes under the Collective

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for cross-department collaboration.
• Lean manufacturing methodologies and quality management systems knowledge.
• Experience using production metrics and data to drive decisions.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Familiarity with Collective Bargaining Agreement processes is a plus.
• Proficient in basic computer skills and manufacturing software.

Responsibilities

• Lead a dedicated cell and supervise shift operations to meet production goals.
• Champion safety by enforcing regulations and conducting trainings.
• Implement lean manufacturing principles and support OPEX initiatives.
• Oversee quality control and first-time quality adherence within the cell.
• Conduct daily stand-up meetings to review goals and plans.
• Coordinate staffing, scheduling, overtime, and training initiatives.
• Manage documentation on performance and attendance with confidentiality.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance, Engineering and HR to address challenges.
