Job summary

New Flyer in St. Cloud, MN is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer – Electrical to optimize electrical manufacturing processes in our transit bus production, improving quality, efficiency, and safety on the factory floor.

You will design, develop, and refine electrical component processes, collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, implement lean and continuous improvement, create clear work instructions, and train floor personnel on new equipment and methods.

Qualifications

• Post secondary engineering education or equivalent training.
• Experience in a manufacturing engineering role or electrical systems design preferred.
• Strong knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes and standards.
• Familiarity with CAD software and electrical schematic design tools is an asset.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities; self-motivated and safety‑minded.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize manufacturing processes for electrical components in transit buses.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve electrical system issues.
• Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices.
• Create and maintain process documentation, including SOPs and layouts.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements to processes, tooling, and equipment.
• Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for electrical defects.
• Support internal audits and compliance processes.
• Train floor personnel on new processes and equipment.
