Job summary

NFI Group in Minnesota is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join the Manufacturing Engineering team. This role supports all manufacturing engineering activities within assigned cells, driving lean initiatives, ECNs, SWIs, and capital upgrades to improve efficiency, quality, and safety.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing/Industrial/Mechanical Engineering, Lean certification or equivalent, and proven leadership in fast-paced manufacturing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Lean certification or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership or team lead experience in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Provide manufacturing engineering support within assigned cells.
• Collaborate with cell team to meet metrics and implement remedial actions.
• Maintain cell log and report updates; present at meetings.
• Design or specify equipment and tooling to support manufacturing.
• Review and implement ECNs within cells or option groups.
• Create SWIs and train personnel on standards.
• Update plant and cell layouts, including inventories and safety maps.
• Drive lean initiatives (5S, value stream mapping, setup reduction).
• Support process planning and production engineering activities.
• Participate in internal and supplier audits as required.
