Job summary

Pratt Industries in Georgia is seeking an Assistant Machine Operator to assist production machines, handle setup, operation, and cleanup, and suggest improvements to meet customer demand.

Responsibilities include following safety rules and GMPs, ensuring quality, maximizing equipment utilization, and learning through cross-training. You may cross-train on other machines and submit timely reports while occasionally working overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 6 months’ experience in some type of manufacturing operation.
• Prior packaging industry experience (paper/plastics/converting) preferred.
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Able to read and follow instructions; quality, safety, job packets.
• May be required to maintain a current Lift Truck Operator License.

Responsibilities

• Work safely at all times and follow Pratt Industries safety rules; participate in Plant Safety Committee.
• Follow GMPs (Good Manufacturing Processes).
• Learn and comply with Pratt quality procedures; stop bad quality from leaving the facility.
• Assist Machine Operator to maximize equipment utilization and improve setup times.
• Maintain housekeeping; keep work areas clean and free of hazards.
• Cross-train on other machines and learn other positions in the plant.
• Complete necessary reports such as Production Data and Safety Data accurately.
• Adhere to production schedule and report scheduling issues to Supervisor.
• Work overtime as necessary; 24x7 operation drives occasional holiday shifts.
