Job summary

Aerotek in Danbury, CT is seeking a Welder to join our small machine shop team. This first shift role runs 7:30am–3:30pm and focuses on welding with tight tolerances in a manufacturing setting.

A higher‑level welder is needed to work independently on the second shift, 12:00pm–8:00pm, with responsibilities that include interpreting blueprints, welding to ASME IX, and passing weld tests. The position is contract‑to‑hire with competitive hourly pay and benefits, onsite work, and opportunities for

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-3 years in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and weld to specifications.
• Knowledge of piping applications.
• Operate power tools effectively.
• ASME Section IX welding methods qualification (at least three methods).
• Must work safely and produce quality products.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and install piping systems and supports.
• Install pipes for steam, hot water and production systems.
• Weld for burners and piping from ½" to 12".
• Read blueprints and weld to specifications.
• Work safely while producing quality products.
• Pass weld tests (visual and X-ray when required).
• Demonstrate ASME IX welding qualifications (3 methods).
• Assemble carbon and stainless weld pipe.
• Operate power tools to finish parts.
• Multi-task in a team environment.
