Job summary

R.H. Sheppard Co. Inc. is seeking a Quality Control Technician to validate first piece, restart, and critical in-process inspections to assure product conformance on the production line.

You will follow QCIs, document results on blueprints or routing forms, calibrate gauging equipment, and assist with nonconforming material handling, tagging, and escalation as directed by the Quality Control Lead. You will also support MSA studies and use CMM/RAM optical tools as required by control plans.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and geometric tolerancing.
• Flexibility for cross-training.

Responsibilities

• Inspect first piece and restart parts using blueprints and QCIs; document data on forms.
• Communicate defects or abnormal conditions to operators or supervisors.
• Document inspection results on routing blueprints and forms.
• Conduct defined in-process and shift-based inspections per control plan.
• Cover at least two machining operation areas.
• Record results using QCI documentation and escalate nonconformances.
• Support red tag process by tagging and segregating suspect product.
• Perform CMM calibration at shift start and after changeovers.
• Use hand tools, air gauging, CMMs, and RAM Optical devices per control plans.
• Participate in MSA and capability studies as directed.
• Complete run charts and control charts as required.
• Be trained on all inspection methods and measurement tools.
• Other duties as assigned.
