Job summary

Orion Placement is seeking an attorney to manage first-party property damage litigation from intake to resolution in a growing plaintiffs-side practice. You will represent homeowners in insurance-related disputes, conduct legal research, draft documents, and take part in negotiations and hearings.

Applicants must have a J.D. and at least 2 years of litigation experience, with strong writing, advocacy, and client-relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage first-party property damage litigation matters from intake through resolution.
• Represent homeowners in insurance coverage and bad faith disputes.
• Conduct legal research and develop effective litigation strategies.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
• Take and defend depositions of insureds, adjusters, experts, and corporate representatives.
• Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration.
• Represent clients at hearings, court appearances, and trial as needed.
• Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case strategy and progress.
• Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff to deliver outstanding client service.
• Stay current on developments in applicable state insurance law and first-party property litigation.

Note:

Applicants must be licensed and in good standing with either the Colorado Bar (for Denver) or the Texas Bar (for Houston) and have at least 2 years of litigation experience. Experience handling first-party property damage or insurance litigation is highly preferred but not required.
