Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of first-party homeowner property insurance claims from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
  • Take and defend depositions of insureds, adjusters, experts, and corporate representatives.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration.
  • Represent clients in court, including trials and hearings, as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates and clear explanations of legal strategies.
  • Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and other attorneys.
  • Stay abreast of developments in Colorado insurance law and property claims.

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled and dedicated attorney with significant experience in first-party homeowner property claims to join their team in Denver, CO. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully representing homeowners against insurance companies in various disputes, including claims involving hail damage, wind damage, fire, water, and other perils. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload, litigate complex issues, and advocate for the rights of homeowners throughout Colorado.

Duties
  • Manage a caseload of first-party homeowner property insurance claims from inception to resolution.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis.
  • Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
  • Take and defend depositions of insureds, adjusters, experts, and corporate representatives.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration.
  • Represent clients in court, including trials and hearings, as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates and clear explanations of legal strategies.

Requirements
