Job summary

Confidential Employer's litigation team in Denver and Houston seeks an attorney to manage first-party property damage cases from intake through resolution. You will work with experienced attorneys and support staff to advocate for homeowners against insurance companies.

The ideal candidate has a JD from an accredited school, 2+ years of litigation experience, strong writing and negotiation skills, and the ability to independently handle a caseload.

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • 2+ years of litigation experience.
  • Strong legal writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage first-party property damage litigation matters from intake through resolution.
  • Represent homeowners in insurance coverage and bad faith disputes.
  • Conduct legal research and develop effective litigation strategies.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
  • Take and defend depositions of insureds, adjusters, experts, and corporate representatives.
  • Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation and arbitration.
  • Represent clients at hearings, court appearances, and trial as needed.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case strategy and progress.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff to deliver outstanding client service.
  • Stay current on developments in applicable state insurance law and first-party property litigation.

Note:

Applicants must be licensed and in good standing with either the Colorado Bar (for Denver) or the Texas Bar (for Houston) and have at least 2 years of litigation experience. Experience handling first-party property damage or insurance litigation is highly preferred but not required.
