UPS in Nashville, TN is seeking a Mechanic1stClass responsible for upkeep and repair of a wide array of equipment, such as delivery vehicles, heavy-duty machinery, on-road tractors, and trailers sourced from different manufacturers. Diagnosing and fixing issues with hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electronic systems, and engines, with duties assigned as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 70 lbs./32 kgs.
• Availability to work flexible shifts, up to 5 days per week
• Must possess the required hand tools to perform the job
• Meets D.O.T requirements for the job assignment
• Valid driver’s license
• Minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience in preventive maintenance and electrical diagnostics
• Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, walks, and turns/pivots frequently during the workday

Responsibilities

• Repairs propane and gas vehicles.
• Operates standard and manual transmission.
• Operates power and pneumatic tools.
• Ensures all vehicles are maintained regularly and promptly.
