Job summary

Pratt Industries, Inc. in Cedar Hill, TX seeks a 1st Assistant to support production presses, assist with setup, operation, cleanup, and drive improvements.

You will monitor material quality, ensure safe operations, and help optimize production schedules to meet cost, quality, and service goals. The role emphasizes safety and continuous improvement in a fast-paced corrugated packaging environment, with opportunities to train others and advance from operator roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; candidates with corrugating industry experience and at least 6 months in a similar role.
• Basic troubleshooting to identify and resolve minor malfunctions to keep equipment running smoothly.
• Strong understanding of equipment design, quality standards, and product specifications; ability to use measuring tools and perform calculations for metrics.
• Stand, walk, and perform physical tasks; required vision abilities.
• Lift Truck Operator License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain safe working environment by following safety protocols and housekeeping.
• Monitor board quality and address defects.
• Assist machine operator to ensure smooth production and optimize schedule.
• Cross-train on different machines with potential to advance to operator roles.
• Complete reports promptly and submit maintenance work orders as needed.
• Collaborate with team to meet production goals and adapt to changes.
