Job summary

Pratt Industries – San Antonio is seeking a 1st Assistant for the 2nd shift to support production presses, assist with setup and cleanup, and help optimize schedules for cost and quality. You will monitor board quality, ensure safe and efficient operations, and contribute to continuous improvements.

The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and cross-training on multiple machines. Prior corrugating experience and a Lift Truck Operator license may be preferred opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Corrugating industry experience and 6 months in a similar role preferred.
• Basic troubleshooting to identify and fix minor malfunctions.
• Strong understanding of equipment design, quality standards and product specifications.
• Ability to use measuring tools and perform calculations for various metrics.
• Standing/walking and other physical tasks required.
• Lift Truck Operator License may be required.

Responsibilities

• Safety and housekeeping upheld to ensure a safe working environment.
• Support operators on production presses including setup and cleanup.
• Assist in meeting production schedules and resolving challenges proactively.
• Train and assist fellow team members, including machine operators.
• Report and help with maintenance work orders as needed.
• Maintain equipment and production area cleanliness.
