Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking an Engineer II for the Firmware & Product Test (FPT) team to validate SSD firmware by developing test strategies, automating workflows, and analyzing failures.

You will collaborate with firmware engineers, test developers, and AI/ML practitioners, gaining hands-on experience with storage tech and AI-enabled engineering practices. The role emphasizes developing verification plans for NVMe features, enhancing Python-based automation, and applying data-driven

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field with ~3 years of experience or Master’s degree.
• Proficiency in Python and libraries NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn.
• Experience with test automation and debugging complex technical issues.
• Working knowledge of machine learning fundamentals and evaluation metrics.
• Experience using AI-powered tools or AI-enabled workflows to boost productivity and test quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement firmware verification plans for customer requirements and NVMe features.
• Design and implement test methodologies to validate firmware functionality and reliability.
• Analyze regression failures and perform root-cause analysis with mitigation plans.
• Develop Python-based test automation, reporting, and data collection tools.
• Leverage AI-enabled tools and ML techniques to improve test efficiency and workflows.
