Job summary

Micron Technology, Inc. seeks an Engineer II on the FPT team to validate enterprise SSD firmware by developing test strategies, automating workflows, analyzing failures, and applying data-driven approaches to improve product quality.

You will collaborate with firmware engineers, test developers, and AI/ML practitioners while gaining hands-on experience with storage technologies, automation frameworks, and AI-enabled engineering practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with ~3 years of relevant experience, or Master’s degree in CS/DS/EE/CE.
Proficiency in Python with libraries such as NumPy, pandas, Scikit-learn.
Experience with test automation, validation tools, and debugging complex issues.
Working knowledge of machine learning fundamentals, algorithms, training concepts, and evaluation metrics.
Experience using AI-powered tools or AI-enabled workflows to improve productivity and quality.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement firmware verification plans for customer requirements and NVMe features (SMART, Trim, Get Log Page, OCP).
Design and implement test methodologies to validate firmware functionality and reliability.
Analyze regression failures, perform root-cause analysis, and communicate findings, risks, and mitigation plans.
Develop and enhance Python-based test automation, reporting, and data-collection tools within validation frameworks.
Leverage AI-powered tools, ML techniques, and data-driven methods to improve test efficiency, failure detection, and workflow automation.
